Help
Using a flexible tape measure, position the tape around your pet’s neck leaving it slightly loose so to allow a finger to slip between your pet’s neck and the tape measure. The collar must not be either too tight or too loose. If your pet has long fur the collar may remain nearly invisible to the eye.

The duration of the amber collar depends on the degree of liveliness of the animal wearing it, we have found for example that, on very active and playful dogs, a collar lasts about 6 – 8 months whereas, on quieter and sedentary dogs, it can last even 2 – 3 years. In principle, the collar should be renewed when most of the pearls have worn out or crumbled.
N.B: it is important to wash the collar monthly to maintain its repellent properties over time.

Baltic Amber is a natural material and can present a great variety of colors: from white to yellow, to brown, to red and also to green, blue, gray and black. Amber can be completely transparent or opaque and is not always monochromatic, in transparent amber it is possible to find inclusions of insects “frozen in time”.

It is not necessary to remove the collar before bathing your pet, however, we recommend rinsing it well under running water if your pet has been swimming in the sea, to eliminate any traces of salt that could prevent its proper functioning.

Baltic Amber is a fossil resin naturally produced by trees that grew on earth 50 million years ago.
Its repelling mechanism is twofold:
- By releasing terpene, an aromatic substance contained in amber, which vaporizes when heated or rubbed. Its resinous aroma is absorbed in the animal’s fur and exerts a repulsive action on insects; plants themselves produce resin in cortex lesions in order to protect from insects and fungi.
- Amber has electrostatic properties and rubbing on the fur it saturates it with static electricity, forming a barrier that prevents insects from infesting the animal.Â
